What is adoption assistance?

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has an adoption assistance program to help parents who adopt from the foster care system with some of the costs of their new child. This assistance can include health care coverage, reimbursement for certain expenses encountered during the process, and monthly payments to help support the child.
