Your Austin divorce lawyer will work to reduce your stress as much as possible in a situation that can be highly emotional and confusing. Contact our divorce law firm for a realistic evaluation of all the factors in your situation.

No-fault divorce and fault-based divorce

The state of Texas recognizes both fault and no-fault divorce. A fault-based divorce is one in which one spouse is found to have committed some form of marital misconduct such as adultery or family violence. If a judge finds fault in the breakup of the marriage, the marital misconduct can affect the equitable distribution of property and other factors involved in the dissolution of the marriage.

A no-fault divorce is granted without the necessity of finding marital misconduct.

In either form of divorce, our divorce and family law firm is experienced in helping clients with property division, alimony, maintenance, child custody and child support, and other divorce or legal separation issues.

Resolution through settlement or litigation

Resolutions in cases of divorce, especially when involving children, are usually best settled outside of the courtroom and without the stress, expense, and pressures of confrontational litigation. However, we are always prepared to bring your case to court when it is in your best interests to do so.

Post-judgment modifications

When circumstances change after the divorce, we also assist clients seeking post-judgment modifications to maintenance or alimony awards, child support, custody, or visitation arrangements. Additionally, we handle military divorces and other legal issues including prenuptial agreements and antenuptial agreements.

Divorce is an emotionally trying and complicated process. This is why your Austin divorce lawyer will strive to become familiar with the personalities, facts, and circumstances of your case. Our law firm's size assures you not only of affordability and personal attention, but also of discretion and respect for your matter.
