After sitting down and discussing the future of their relationship, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony realized that they both wanted different things with their lives. This realization pushed Anthony to file divorce papers in Los Angeles last Monday.

The couple told the media that they were separating last summer, but were going to remain friends and business partners. During their separation, Jennifer Lopez began dating one of her back-up dancers, and Anthony also began dating someone else, but was allegedly still in love with Lopez.

The filing will put an end to a seven year marriage, in which the former couple witnessed the birth of their twins. The custody of their children, now 4-years-old, will be determined in the divorce procedure.
